Random Acts of Nonsense
Welcome Random Acts of Nonsense (RAON); an antidote to the trials and tribulations of everyday life.
The aim of RAON is to encouraging everyone to 'Carpe Diem', seize the moment, embrace ridiculousness and make memories with the people they love.
By adding a sprinkle of RAON glitter and silliness (and sometimes Unicorns), RAON moments stay in your head and heart, and are also good for your head and heart, supporting mental and physical well-being too.
So here are some RAON suggestions for Christmas:
How about making Random Christmas decorations from what ever is randomly around the house? Brussels Sprouts on the Xmas tree?
Maybe you could wear odd shoes? The more different the shoes, the more smiles and laughter you will get.
I know you were told not to play with your food, but be a bit random and make a face with it on your plate.
Have you ever tried puppet arms? It is a sure fire way to make you and everyone else smile. One person is the puppet, the other person sits behind them as the arms. The puppet can then instruct the arms to do whatever they want. Wave, scratch, eat, drink or even dance!
If your kids are like mine, they love a tombola. With no Christmas fairs this year, why don’t you make you own? Make some tickets, go around the house and get out anything and everything. The more random the better. You see for my kids, it’s about the excitement of winning, not what they get. I am that woman who handed in tombola prizes for the school fete and then won them back, so grab those for starters!
Finally, how about putting on your own entertainment this year. Let’s get people to 'do a turn'. It can be anything at all – if in doubt get that “Knock-Knock” joke book out, and share a few of the old classics.
Merry Christmas!
From RAON (People who believe perhaps the "Hokey Cokey" is really what it's all about!)
